Monday, December 23, 2024 In a moment of great pride for the RBDF Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Unit, Able Woman Marine Gwen Ambrister has been honored with the prestigious title of Most Outstanding Marine of the MWR Unit for the year 2024.

This accolade underscores her service, commitment to duty and the good standards she consistently upholds, all of which significantly enhance the unit’s overall performance. The recognition ceremony took place on December 23rd at the RBDF Headquarters, JFK, where Captain Gregory Brown presented the plaque and certificate of recognition to Able Woman Marine Ambrister. Captain Brown commended her dedication and hard work, acknowledging the vital contributions she has made to the unit.

Accompanying him, FCPO Antoine Adams delivered encouraging remarks, emphasizing the importance of commitment and teamwork while highlighting the essential role she plays in sustaining the unit’s reputation for excellence. Also in attendance was CPO Lamont Thurston, a senior enlisted member of the unit, who shares in the pride of the recognition. The initiative was made possible through the diligent efforts of Petty Officer Edna Hart and other members of the MWR Unit, who played a crucial role in organizing the event.
