Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s (RBDF) Northern Command hosted a memorable day of service, mentorship, and fun for 21 children from the Grand Bahama Children’s Home on Saturday, March 22, 2025.
The day began with a journey of exploration and learning, starting with a guided visit to the Rand Nature Center. This was followed by a scenic tour of the Lucayan National Park, located on the eastern end of Grand Bahama. The experience continued at the RBDF compound, where the children enjoyed swimming, engaging activities, and a meal.
The Marines, organized into two teams, served as chaperones and other personnel, including members of the RBDF Rangers program, contributed to community support efforts by conducting essential repairs at the Children’s Home.
This impactful initiative reflects Northern Command’s ongoing commitment to youth
development and community engagement. It also underscores the broader mission of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force to foster meaningful connections with communities across the nation.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, the RBDF remains dedicated to being a responsible corporate citizen. Through various outreach initiatives and development projects, the Defence Force continues to strengthen community ties, uplift individuals, and contribute to building resilient and thriving communities.
