RBDF PARTAKES IN REMEMBRANCE DAY SERVICE

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Commander Defence, Commodore Raymond King accompanied by Executive Team Members, Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force joined other law enforcement agencies and civil groups on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at Christ Church Cathedral for this year’s Remembrance Day Service.

Remembrance Day, instituted in 1919 by King George V is recognized annually in the Bahamas and countries throughout the British colony in remembrance of the men and women who served during World Wars I and II in the British Army.

The church service at Christ Church Cathedral was followed by a ceremonial march consisting of dignitaries, various government and non-government organizations and youth groups which led to a second service in the Garden of Remembrance.

Wreaths were laid at the base of the Cenotaph monument by Her Excellency the Governor- General, Acting Prime Minister Hon Glenys Hanna-Martin, the Chief Justice, the President of the Senate, Representative of the Bahamas Christian Council, Representatives of Armed Services, Chairman, British Legion-Bahamas Branch and other civic groups.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force salutes these men and women who answered the call of duty and served their country with pride.
