The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) proudly participated in the official opening of Diplomatic Week 2025, held on October 20 at the Baha Mar Convention Centre under the theme “Delivering Security, Opportunity, and Justice Through Diplomacy.”

In delivering the keynote address, the Honourable Philip Davis, K.C., M.P., Prime Minister underscored the importance of preserving strong diplomatic ties which are essential to maintaining global peace and security. The RBDF delegation was led by Captain Natasha Miller, Deputy Commander Defence Force.

The Honourable Wayne Munroe, K.C., M.P., led the first plenary session on “Emerging Security Threats: The Bahamas Perspective.” Captain Shawn Adderley, Staff Officer Legal Affairs, and Captain Glenn McPhee, Command Staff Officer accompanied the Honourable Minister as panelists along with representatives from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, and the Haiti Gang Suppression Force.

The discussion provided valuable insights into The Bahamas’ security priorities and opportunities for continued regional and international collaboration. The RBDF’s participation highlighted the vital role in protecting The Bahamas against emerging security threats.

During a break, Captain Natasha Miller, Deputy Commander Defence Force presented Senior Inspector General Godfrey Otunge of the Kenyan Army, interim head of the Multinational Security Support Mission in Haiti, with a souvenir on behalf of Commodore Floyd Moxey, Commander Defence Force.

The RBDF, under the leadership of Commodore Floyd Moxey, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, the RBDF is commited to strengthening relationships, enhancing cooperation, and advancing national security interests on the world stage.
