The Morale, Welfare & Recreation Unit (MWRU) successfully executed Operation Airwaves: Splash Dash 2025, a three-day initiative held March 11-13, 2025, in collaboration with Cruising Adventures Bahamas and operational units of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF). The event focused on strengthening teamwork, coordination, professional development and reinforced strong partnerships.
Through structured training exercises, the event was designed to enhance operational readiness and inter-unit cooperation. From the seamless retrieval of watercraft to engaging activities that strengthened camaraderie, the event also exemplified the collaborative spirit that defines our organization. The opening ceremony set an inspiring tone with remarks from Commander Operations, Senior Commander William Sturrup, and Mr. Demetrius Hepburn from Cruising Adventures, emphasizing unity in achieving shared goals.
Day two featured thrilling simulations and demonstrations, led by Petty Officer Edna Hart and the dedicated MWRU team, highlighting professionalism and skill. The final competition on day three brought excitement and friendly rivalry, with standout performances from the Commando Squadron and Bahamas Military & Maritime Academy.
At the conclusion of the three-day event, Force Chief Petty Officer Antoine Adams expressed deep gratitude for the support and contributions that made this event a resounding success. Operation Airwaves: Splash Dash 2025 stands as a testament to the power of teamwork and our ongoing commitment to excellence, camaraderie, and community engagement.
Under the leadership of Commodore Raymond E. King, the RBDF continues to demonstrate its dedication to corporate responsibility and community development through impactful outreach initiatives.
