Twenty (20) officers from the Royal Bahamas Defence participated in the St. Matthews Anglican Fun Run Walk on October 5, 2024.
This event was organized & held by the Usher Board of the St. Matthew’s Anglican Church.
Under the leadership of Kenya Mycklewhyte, the fundraising chairperson & Dr. Carlyne Mckenzie Co-chair, this initiative was in honor of The Late Chief Petty Officer Leroy Whylly, but also to raise funds for the renovation for St. Matthew Anglican Church.
During the Fun Run Walk event, Royal Bahamas Defence Force personnel delivered commendable performances. Marine Carlene Johnson secured 1st place in the female division with an impressive time of 35:46, while Marine Seaman Elisha Dean earned a strong 2nd place finish in the male division, clocking in at 30:23. Their achievements reflect their dedication and effort in the event.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force demonstrates its commitment to responsible corporate citizenship through extensive outreach initiatives. These projects aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
