As the Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to enforce the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s strategic intent to enhance responsiveness to the security environment nationally and regionally, members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force were recently recognized along with the Royal Bahamas Police Force for their relentless efforts in enforcing curfew orders in the country.

During a brief awards ceremony held by The Royal Bahamas Police Force on Friday, February 5, 2021, at the Cable Beach Police Station, Police officers along with Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force were awarded certificates of appreciation for their continued dedication in assisting with the Emergency Orders. Bringing remarks were the Commander Defence Force Commodore Raymond King, and Assistant Commissioner of Police Craig Stubbs, who commended and thanked both agencies for their commendable efforts in ensuring a stable and safe environment.

These joint operations enhanced the levels of interoperability between both agencies including increase opportunities for collaboration, cooperation, and consensus-building during the enforcement of the emergency orders. Commodore King and the Assistant Commissioner of Police reminded both uniform branches of the vital role they play during this worldwide pandemic; and how their presence on the streets at night is very vital. 

Also in attendance were the Acting Captain Coral Harbour Captain Shawn Adderley and Captain of Southern Command Captain Glenn Mcphee.

In March 2020, the country was placed under emergency orders, and members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force assisted the Police force in enforcing the curfew which was implemented by The Bahamas government. They were tasked with strategically manning the streets to ensure that persons adhered to the necessary Curfew Orders to aid in reducing the spread of the Novel Coronavirus. 

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to ensuring a safe and secure environment as the country forges ahead during the pandemic.
