The Crisis Risk Management Unit (CRMU) and the Disaster Risk Management Unit (DRMU) launched a comprehensive training program for Defence Force personnel on Monday, March 3, 2025. This initiative, which included bothofficers and enlisted members, focused on enhancing disaster management and emergency response capabilities. The training aligns with the Commander Defence Force’s vision of ensuring personnel are well-equipped to handle a range of emergencies effectively.

Approximately 65 participants engaged in this critical training, gaining valuable expertise in key areas such as field operations, incident command, active shooter response, crisis management, bomb threat protocols, psychological first aid, emergency response coordination, fire management, and disaster victim identification (DVI).

This marks the third training session of 2025, with CRMU and DRMU committed to conducting additional sessions to ensure comprehensive preparedness across the force. A key component of the program was a table-top exercise, allowing participants to apply their knowledge to real- world scenarios, reinforcing practical decision-making and teamwork.

Special recognition is extended to the instructors, led by FCPO McKenzie, for their dedication and expertise in preparing personnel to respond to crises with professionalism and skill.

Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the RBDF remains committed to enhancing the quality and capabilities of its personnel. This dedication to excellence in leadership and performance fosters a high-performing, inclusive work environment where service members are empowered to contribute to the Defence Force’s mission.
