vAfter successfully completing international training programs, Chief Petty Officer Roscoe Greene, Petty Officer Karia Smith, and Leading Woman Marine Aniska Bonaby met with Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey, who extended his congratulations on their accomplishments. Commodore Moxey was accompanied by Command Staff Officer Captain Glenn McPhee and Human Resource Officer Acting Lieutenant Commander Thora Gardiner.

Chief Petty Officer Greene, along with Petty Officer Smith, traveled to Petaluma, California, United States, to attend a four-week Chief Petty Officer Academy (CPOA) Course at the United States Coast Guard Base. Leading Woman Marine Bonaby traveled to Sheppard Air Force Base, Texas, United States, to attend the Basic Instructor Course, 10 September 2025 through 2 October 2025.

The intensive CPOA program focused on several core disciplines, including orienteering, strategic and critical thinking, leadership and management, team building, group dynamics, policy change, ethical decision making, workforce resiliency, motivation, physical fitness, time and wellness management. These areas embody the true essence of Chief Petty Officers who model the way for their peers and subordinates while bridging the gap between Officers and the Enlisted.

Petty Officer Smith distinguished herself by receiving the prestigious “Altus Tendo Award.” Selected by the Academy Staff, this award recognizes the Chief Petty Officer who excels in “Reaching Higher” in the areas of relationships, expectations, academics, character, health, and wellness. To be recognized among a class of eighty candidates was a significant achievement and a testament to her exceptional performance.

Leading Woman Marine Bonaby excelled in her program which focused on equipping participants with innovative technical training skills and instructional knowledge. The training covered organizational structures, learning modules, instructor roles, core competencies, student management, group dynamics, lesson plan development, and effective communication processes.

The RBDF, under the leadership of Commodore Floyd Moxey, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization.
