Defence Headquarters, 19 March 2026 (RBDF): The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) welcomed H.E. Herschel Walker, United States Ambassador to The Bahamas during a courtesy call on Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey along with members of the RBDF Executive Leadership at Defence Headquarters as part of ongoing engagements with key international partners.
The courtesy call reaffirms the longstanding partnership between The Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the United States of America, particularly in the areas of maritime security, regional cooperation, and defence collaboration.
Discussions focused on shared security interests, cooperation initiatives, and opportunities to further strengthen bilateral relations in support of regional stability and maritime domain awareness.
Commodore Moxey expressed appreciation for the continued support and collaboration provided by U.S. agencies to the RBDF. Recent examples, the donation of three critical pieces of logistic equipment— two (2) forklifts and a telehandler with training and spare parts, worth in excess of $400,000.00. As well as the U.S. Air Force transport for RBDF personnel recently returned home from deployment with the GSF in Haiti. These, among so many others, emphasize the significance of cooperation initiatives, joint efforts, and support that contribute towards safeguarding territorial waters and combating transnational threats.
H.E. Walker reaffirmed and shared the common security concerns, mutual to The Bahamas and the United States. He expressed sincere appreciation and gratitude to the RBDF for the continued commitment to tackle these issues and reaffirmed the support and steadfastness of the United States as a partner and as a family.
