The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Sea Training Department recently carried out a meaningful outreach initiative at Eljay’s Hilltop Cottage Ministries on Thursday, January 16, 2025.
The event focused on community support through the donation of essential goods, including clothing and cleaning supplies, to assist those in need. Hosted by Pastor Laura Johnson Taylor, the service members were given a tour of the premises while being given insight into how she, along with a dedicated team of volunteers, are purposed towards positively impacting the community.
Lieutenant Commander Byron McClain, Executive Officer for the event, represented Commander of Operations, Senior Commander William Sturrup and Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King. In his remarks, he offered words of comfort and encouragement to Pastor Laura Johnson Taylor and her team. He complimented their efforts and underscored the RBDF’s steadfast commitment to community support and development. Pastor Taylor concluded the event with a heartfelt prayer, blessing the occasion and all involved.

King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force exemplifies its commitment to being a responsible corporate citizen through a range of extensive outreach initiatives and projects. These endeavors aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
