Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) deployed to Haiti continue to demonstrate professionalism, resilience, and dedication as members of the Haiti Gang Suppression Force in support of regional security and stability.

During a recent “Video Chat Call” the Minister of National Security, the Honourable Wayne Munroe KC, MP, extended Season’s Greetings to the deployed officers and marines. He advised that he had just concluded a Cabinet meeting and conveyed that the Honourable Prime Minister sends his regards and sincere appreciation for the critical work they are conducting in Haiti on behalf of The Bahamas. He further acknowledged their personal sacrifices being made on behalf of their families and country, assuring them that their service will not go unnoticed.

The deployed Troops reported that they have settled into their operational routines, maintaining a balance between mission requirements and personal well-being. In spite of the operational requirements, they are scheduling time for spiritual enrichment, attending church services both in-person and online, engaging in daily physical fitness training, and participating in professional development courses online whenever operational requirements permit.

The Deputy Commander Defence Force (DCDF), Captain Natasha Miller, extended Christmas greetings on behalf of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey and assured the officers and marines that they remain in the prayers of the RBDF family during the Holiday season. She also expressed her appreciation for their dedicated service and exemplary representation of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and The Bahamas while deployed in Haiti.

Additionally, Captain Glenn McPhee, Senior Commander Derrick Ferguson, and Lieutenant Commander Elizabeth Simms, collectively thanked the officers for the high level of professionalism, commitment, and sacrifice they continue to display while serving on deployment.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force under Commodore Moxey’s leadership, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we remain proud of our personnel deployed abroad for peacekeeping as they uphold the values and mission of the Defence Force.
