The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Warrant Officers and Senior Rates Mess hosted a heartfelt Appreciation Breakfast on Friday, November 22, 2024, to commemorate the exemplary service and retirement of Force Chief PettymOfficer Gary Hanna. The event, held at the HMBS Coral Harbour Training Auditorium, celebrated Hanna’s nearly four decades of unwavering dedication and distinguished service to the Defence Force and the nation.

In attendance were Captain Coral Harbour Glenn McPhee, Training Officer Commander Byron Brown, and Head of the Commando Squadron Commander Edward Fritz, who joined colleagues, friends, and family members in honoring Hanna’s transition from marine life to civilian life. Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn McPhee delivered brief remarks, praising Hanna for his long-standing commitment to duty, his leadership, and his invaluable contributions to the RBDF.

The breakfast was marked by an atmosphere of camaraderie and appreciation. As Force Chief Petty Officer Gary Hanna transitions into a new chapter of his life, his colleagues and superiors shared heartfelt reflections on his impactful career. Fellow marines and leaders took the opportunity to honor his contributions, emphasizing the values of passion and commitment that he exemplified during his nearly four decades with the RBDF. The event also underscored the RBDF’s commitment to recognizing the sacrifices and contributions of its members, especially those who have dedicated their lives to safeguarding the sovereignty of The Bahamas.
