Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Garnet Beneby paid a courtesy visit to the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey, on Monday, 29 December 2025, at Defence Headquarters.

The purpose of the visit was to give back to the Royal Bahamas Defence Force through the donation of personal flotation devices (life vests), symbolizing his continued commitment to the organization. The donation complements the RBDF’s existing stock, enhancing the ability to ensure safety at sea and fulfil the mandate to protect The Bahamas.

This gesture of goodwill highlights the enduring bond between the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and its veterans, exemplifying the spirit of service, loyalty, and appreciation that continues beyond an active duty career.

Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Beneby served the Defence Force with distinction for thirty (30) years, having enlisted as a member of Entry Two, and contributed significantly to the growth and success of the Force. In reflecting on his service, he expressed gratitude for the opportunities, achievements, and personal development gained throughout his distinguished career.

The Royal Bahamas Defence Force under Commodore Moxey’s leadership, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we remain committed to supporting our veterans and retirees, whose dedication continues to strengthen the Force’s foundation of service, sacrifice, and national pride. Their legacy ensures that the RBDF remains steadfast in its mission of Guarding Our Heritage.
