The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Chaplaincy Office held a prayer session with Commander Defence Force, Commodore Floyd Moxey, and members of his Executive Team on Monday, 5 January 2026, at Defence Headquarters, John F. Kennedy Drive.
During the session, Force Chaplain Apostle Dr. Raymond Wells, accompanied by Assistant Force Chaplain, Force Chief Petty Officer John Ingraham, shared with the leadership on the importance of unity, emphasizing that organizations committed to unity attract God’s blessings. Referencing scripture, the Chaplain reminded the Executive Leadership that “a kingdom divided against itself cannot stand,” underscoring the power of unity and noting that any organization lacking unity is unlikely to endure. He further highlighted the Apostle Paul’s exhortation to endeavor to maintain unity among believers.
As guidance for the new year, the Chaplain presented four key principles for continued success: unity brings strength, unity brings diverse perspectives, unity shares the burden, and unity produces greater results. He commended Commodore Moxey for his leadership style, particularly his commitment to fostering cohesion and creating opportunities to excel.
Prior to the prayers, all in attendance gathered in unity to sing “Bind Us Together.” Assistant Force Chaplain, Force Chief Petty Officer John Ingraham delivered by the opening prayer for organizational unity and prayed that any spirit seeking to undermine that unity be removed. The Force Chaplain then anointed the Commander Defence Force and members of the Executive Team with oil, before closing in prayer committing them to God for good health, prosperity and faithful service to the Nation.
In response, Commodore Moxey expressed sincere gratitude to the Chaplain and his team for their continued service, noting that their work plays a vital role in supporting the men and women of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force as we Guard our Heritage.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force under Commodore Moxey’s leadership, is optimizing excellence by bridging generations and embracing modernization. As such, we remain committed to our Core Values: Fair-play, Accountability, Integrity, Transparency, Honesty, Fortitude, Unity, and Loyalty.
