In enforcing the Emergency Powers Order of COVID-19, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force has determinedly stepped up security efforts to ensure the safety of Bahamian residents.  

 Defence Force military vessels have established a blockade off the northern Bahamas to ensure the adherence relative to the closure of ports/harbours as per emergency orders, Sections 10 and 11 of the COVID-19 Orders emphasizes the “Restriction on International Travel” and “Restriction on Domestic Travel.”

Fifteen foreign vessels were permitted to depart North Bimini enroute to the USA consistent with the emergency orders to prevent potential community spread thus ensuring the closure of Bimini Harbour.

 Additionally, the Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force continue to assist law enforcement agencies with the enforcement of the mandatory curfew as they join in the fight against the spread of COVID-19.
