Representatives of The Bahamas’ National Identified Risk Framework, led by Dr. Cassandra Nottage, Coordinator, accompanied by Senior Consultant Mr. Charles Virgil, paid a courtesy call on Deputy Commander Defence Force, Captain Natasha Miller, and members of the Executive Leadership Team on Friday, 2 January 2026, at Defence Headquarters on John F. Kennedy Drive.

Dr. Nottage and Mr. Virgil are key national figures responsible for coordinating The Bahamas’ efforts to combat money laundering, terrorist financing, and proliferation financing, while ensuring the country’s compliance with the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF). Their work supports the maintenance of national and international financial integrity and security.

During the engagement, Dr. Nottage emphasized the critical role of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s responsibilities and contributions in the national fight against financial crimes. She also advised on a series of meetings scheduled throughout the year, noting the importance of Defence Force representation to support ongoing coordination and collaboration in safeguarding The Bahamas’ financial system.
