The Royal Bahamas Defence Force held its Health and Fitness Month Mini Departmental Triathlon on March 20, 2026, onboard HMBS Coral Harbour Base, bringing together officers and marines for a day of competitive athleticism, teamwork, and camaraderie.
The day began with the individual triathlon, which consisted of a 300-meter swim, a five-mile bike race, and a one-mile run. Participants demonstrated determination and endurance throughout the course. Sub Lieutenant Otis Ferguson secured first place, followed by Acting Sub Lieutenant Jamon King in second place. Marine Seaman Dwayne Davis finished in third place, Able Seaman R. Scott placed fourth, and Able Seaman Ivan Rolle Jr. rounded out the top five competitors.
Following the individual competition, participants took part in the relay triathlon, which also included a 300-meter swim, a five-mile bike race, and a one-mile run. Teams from several departments across the organization competed, highlighting the spirit of unity and cooperation within the Defence Force. Bahamas Military and Maritime Academy Team 2 captured first place, while Bahamas Military and Maritime Academy Team 1 finished in second place. Commando Squadron earned third place, and Headquarters Department placed fourth.
At the conclusion of the event, an awards ceremony was held where medals were presented to the top individual competitors and teams in recognition of their outstanding performance.
