The Royal Bahamas Defence Force today bid a final farewell to Reserve Leading Woman Marine Stephanie Darville, who was laid to rest with full military honours following a funeral service at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral at 11:00 a.m.
The solemn ceremony drew Commodore Floyd Moxey, Commander Defence Force, along with members of the executive team, Officers, Marines, Veterans, family members, and loved ones, all gathering to pay their final respects to a Marine who served her country with distinction for over 13 years.
Following the cathedral service, mourners participated in the traditional funeral march from Defence Force Headquarters on John F. Kennedy Drive to Lakeview Memorial Gardens and Mausoleums, where Leading Woman Marine Darville was interred with full military honours.
Leading Woman Marine Darville joined the Reserves Entry One on May 26, 2012, as one of 27 dedicated Bahamians who chose to serve their country. Throughout her tenure, she served with honour in the Base Maintenance Team Section as a writer, demonstrating consistent commitment to duty. Most recently, she served with distinction in the Office of Captain Coral Harbour for the past three years.
Her service earned recognition through both the Commander Defence Force Commendation and the National Security Council Commendation. She took her professional development seriously, completing training in Trafficking-in-Persons, Port Facility Security, and Psychological First Aid, among other courses.
A memorial service was held in her honour on December 3, 2025, at HMBS Coral Harbour, where the Defence Force community gathered to remember her life and service.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force extends its deepest condolences to the family and friends of Reserve Leading Woman Marine Stephanie Darville. On behalf of Commander Defence Force Commodore Floyd Moxey, Officers, Marines, Reserves, and Veterans, we share in the grief and honour her memory.
May she rest in peace.
