In a display of community spirit, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and local Rotary Clubs came together on October 5th to host a successful outdoor cleanup and renovation event at Stapledon School. Volunteers from various organizations, including Urban Renewal and students from RM Bailey and CR Walker schools, worked diligently to revitalize the school grounds.
The initiative saw large, overgrown fields cleared, new vegetation planted, and a chicken coop renovated, transforming the outdoor space into a more welcoming environment for students and staff alike. After a rewarding day of hard work, participants were treated to a delicious meal, complemented by the uplifting sounds of a live band, fostering a festive atmosphere.
Jordan Minnis, President of Rotaract Sunset, expressed his enthusiasm for the event during an interview, stating, “We just wanted to assist and are excited about the opportunity to make a positive impact. This event is truly interactive, allowing everyone to contribute to the agricultural efforts by weeding the garden and enhancing the school’s outdoor facilities.”
This collaborative effort showcased the commitment of the Royal Bahamas Defense Force, Rotary Clubs, and local schools to not only beautify the environment but also strengthen community bonds through service and teamwork.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force exemplifies its commitment to be a responsible corporate citizenship through a range of extensive outreach initiatives and projects. These endeavors aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
