On January 23, 2025, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) hosted its Marine of the Quarter and Marine of the Year Awards Ceremony for the Supply Department onboard HMBS Coral Harbour Base. The ceremony served to honor the outstanding contributions of marines who demonstrated exceptional dedication, hard work, and commitment throughout 2024.
The Marine of the Quarter awards acknowledged individuals who performed above and beyond their duties during each quarter of 2024. For the first quarter, spanning January to March, the honorees were Able Seaman Kavon Taylor, Able Seaman Trevor Miller, Able Seaman Elvis Chipman, and Leading Seaman Nikao Glover. In the second quarter, from April to June, the awardees included Woman Marine Charmae Davis, Woman Marine Fendisha Smith, Able Seaman Sadera Rolle, and Able Seaman Kurt Stubbs. During the third quarter, covering July through September, the honored recipients were Able Seaman Taro Thompson, Able Seaman Leonardo Forbes, Leading Woman Marine Kristen Duncan, and Able Seaman Kavanti McBride. Concluding the year, the fourth-quarter awardees, representing October to December, were Leading Woman Marine Catherine Johnson, Able Seaman Carlos Sturrup, Able Seaman Lloyd McQueen, and Able Seaman Briannardo Baker.
In addition to recognizing excellence throughout each quarter, the event also celebrated the distinguished achievements of those selected as the Marine of the Year. Woman Marine Charmae Davis, Able Seaman Kavon Taylor, and Leading Woman Marine Catherine Johnson were honored for their exceptional commitment, leadership, and contributions that surpassed expectations. These awards highlight the diligence and professionalism that these individuals brought to their roles within the Supply Department, setting a standard of excellence for their peers to emulate.
