The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) marked its 45th anniversary with a traditional cake-cutting ceremony on Monday, March 31, 2025, at HMBS Coral Harbour. The event was hosted by the Warrant Officers, Senior Rates, and the President of the Senior Rates Mess, Petty Officer Leslie Porter.
Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, attended alongside his wife, Retired Force Chief Fredericka King, and members of his Executive Team. This milestone celebration honoured the RBDF’s legacy and ongoing advancement.
In his remarks, Commodore King emphasized the importance of growth, transformation, and adaptation within the organization. He highlighted the need for the RBDF to evolve with technological advancements while ensuring its policies, procedures, and practices remain effective in shaping and mentoring the next generation of marines.
As part of tradition, Force Chief Petty Officer Kermit Turnquest and Chief Petty Officer Tina Rolle conducted the ceremonial cake cutting, symbolizing unity and continuity within the RBDF.
Under the leadership of Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to fostering workforce engagement by actively involving its members. This approach seeks to create a professional and collaborative environment that encourages full cooperation among personnel.
