Midshipman Christopher Moss successfully completed the comprehensive training at the prestigious BRNC Dartmouth, in Devon, England. He departed for England in January 2024 to undergo the rigorous eight-month (15 January – 15 August 2024) training course. BRNC, renowned for its hands-on seamanship training and comprehensive leadership development, provided the young officer with a holistic skillset crucial for his role aboard modern warships.
The training covered a wide array of disciplines, including navigation, ship handling, nuclear/biological/chemical defense, marine and electrical engineering, leadership skills, effective management as junior divisional officers, all designed to prepare Moss for the important leadership and management positions he will be appointed to throughout his careers in the Royal Bahamas Defence Force.
Moss’ graduation marked a significant milestone in his professional development and it highlighted the enduring partnership between The Bahamas and the United Kingdom in the realm of defense and security.
On Monday 2 September 2024, Midshipman Moss was officially welcomed back on board HMBS Coral Harbour by Captain Coral Harbour – Captain Glenn McPhee. He was presented with the book ‘NAVAL LEADERSHIP: Voices of Experience’ by Karel Montor. Present were the Training Commander – Commander Byron Brown, RBDF Chaplain – Apostle Raymond Wells and the Master-At-Arms Force Chief Petty Officer Mr. Raymond Sands.
