Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King attended the official opening of the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services’ Staff Empowerment Seminar at Faith United Baptist Church on April 12, 2022.Accompanied by RBDF Aide-de-camp, Lieutenant Commander Samantha Hart and Command Warrant Officer, Force Chief Petty Officer Ramone Storr, Commodore King along with the other heads of uniformed branches of government heard from the Minister of National Security, the Honourable Wayne Munroe and Prime Minister, the Honourable Philip Davis.Prime Minister Davis in his remarks emphasized the importance of professional development and encouraged the attendees to seize the opportunities to become models of decency and discipline to others.He acknowledged there was much work to be done, but assured them that the government’s focus was on bringing about transformative change and that the investment would be reflected in the improved rehabilitation of inmates and eventually a better society, when they are reintegrated. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to support its partner agencies and realizes the importance of such seminars. This is evidenced in the recent completion of the CDF Leadership & Management Symposium for all of its newly promoted personnel.Since then, members of the force have just begun another series of sessions as part of the Strategic Planning Symposium which will lend to the professional development of Defence Force Officers and Marines.The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is committed to Guarding Our Heritage with the universal aim of creating a safer Bahamas.(RBDF Photos by A/B Michael E.
