Defence Headquarters, 8 December. ‘23 (RBDF): In the true spirit of the season, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) radiated joy and warmth, creating memorable moments for the young learners at Adelaide and Gambier Primary Schools in Western New Providence. This longstanding tradition within the RBDF, initiated by the first Bahamian Commodore, Leon Livingston Smith, has continued through the Adopt-A-School Programme.
The festive initiative began at Gambier Primary School, where Force Chaplain, Apostle Raymond Wells, led devotions and prayers for both students and faculty. Following this, Principal Sherilyn Strachan expressed heartfelt gratitude to the organization for spearheading this meaningful event. “It’s crucial to convey to the children that people care; it instills belief in the magic of Christmas and reinforces their sense of importance,” emphasized Ms. Strachan.
Adelaide Primary School witnessed even more excitement as students’ eyes lit up at the sight of generously donated gifts from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. The highlight of the day was the distribution of specially curated gift packages, each brimming with festive delights and surprises, adding an extra layer of excitement to the holiday celebration.
