DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS, 7 Aug ’23 (RBDF): Petty Officer Christina Rahming of The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) recently completed an intensive Chief Petty Officer (CPO) training course at the Chief Petty Officer Academy, located at TRACEN Petaluma, California, in collaboration with the United States Coast Guard.
This four-week course, which commenced on July 10, 2023, and concluded with a graduation banquet ceremony on August 4, 2023, aimed to equip participants with vital skills, knowledge, and attitudes necessary for a seamless transition from E-6 to E-7 rank – a significant role as the backbone of the enlisted workforce.
The comprehensive curriculum was meticulously designed to empower CPOs to respond effectively to the multifaceted challenges they encounter in their line of duty. The course covered a wide range of subjects, including Behavioral Diversity, Wellness, Time Management, Coaching and Leadership, Ethical Decision Making, and Effective Communication.
Participants praised the top-line professionalism of the course, underlining the dedication of the ten highly educated instructors who went above and beyond to ensure a thorough understanding of the subjects presented. As a result of the training, CPOs are now better equipped to fulfill their roles with excellence and efficiency in their respective workforce divisions.
The course proved transformative, bolstering the spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional aspects of each participant, empowering them to emerge as stronger and wiser leaders.
Petty Officer Christina Rahming, who completed the course, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, stating that the experience has not only enriched their abilities but also enhanced their contributions as a Senior Rate. The training fostered collaboration with other organizations sharing similar strategic frameworks, further strengthening the RBDF’s capabilities.
