On Saturday, August 5, 2023, members of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Military Aide to Civilian Authority Department (MACA), led by Lieutenant Commander Andrew Bowe, organized and executed a highly successful Breakfast and Clothing Giveaway event at Mother Francis Butler Park in the Bain and Grant’s Town Community.
This community initiative was planned and executed by the department’s Senior Enlisted personnel, who worked in unison with all attached marines. The dedication of their time, clothing donations, and financial contributions to procure food items played a pivotal role in the initiative’s resounding success. Moreover, in a heartwarming display of kindness, the gesture was extended to support the sheltered battered women and children at the nearby Salvation Army.
The event garnered immense support from the community, with a large number of familiar faces in attendance. It is worth noting that MACA is currently entrusted with providing security details at prominent establishments such as the Passport Office, Princess Margaret Hospital, and the Registrar General’s Office, among others.
Lieutenant Commander Bowe expressed his commitment to host such initiatives quarterly throughout the New Providence region. This dedication reflects the RBDF’s sincere desire to foster meaningful connections and support the well-being of communities.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force exemplifies its commitment to be a responsible corporate citizenship through a range of extensive outreach initiatives and projects. These endeavors aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
