DEFENCE HEADQUARTERS, 22 APR. ‘23 (RBDF): Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King accompanied by Senior Enlisted Representative, Force Chief Petty Officer Vaughn Ferguson participated in the 20th United States Naval College Regional Alumni Symposium, co-Hosted by the Chilean Naval War College in Viña del Mar, Chile from 17-19 April, 2023.
Participants from the United States Naval War College Alumni of America and the Caribbean attended the event which focused on strengthening regional maritime partnerships, while exploring opportunities for cooperation in the areas of humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing practices.
Matters discussed amongst the inter-agency partners will seek to enhance each organization’s level of security cooperation through their deliberations on strategies, operations and tactics employed to counter transnational organized networks. The symposium also placed emphasis on best practices and venues in which to expand information and intelligence sharing.
In keeping with the Commander Defence Force’s intent, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to embrace opportunities that enhance the organization’s strategic objective of strengthening friendships, relationships and partnerships with regional, hemispheric and international nations.
