In keeping with Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s strategic objective of strengthening relationships with stakeholders and the community at large as a socially corporate citizen, Force Chief Petty Officer (FCPO) Bursil Daxon was the keynote speaker for The Bahamas Maritime Cadet Corps Closing Ceremony held in Matthew Town Inagua, on Friday 10th June 2022. The Ceremony was held at Saint Philips Anglican Hall. FCPO B. Daxon’s address to the graduates focused on four points of interest, time management and its importance to every aspect of life; the importance of education and their future; everyday decisions that have long-term consequences; and always putting God first in all that they do. In attendance were Mrs. Nishgo-Bain Collie, Principal, along with the staff of Inagua All-Age School. HMBS Matthew Town Deployment Team is currently led by FCPO Bursil Daxon and Chief Petty Officer Onassis Ferguson is the Safe Boat Coxswain.The Southern Command’s Mission is to ensure continuity of administration, operations, and logistical support for all RBDF missions originating, transitioning through, or around the southern Bahamas.The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to its role in community building while Guarding Our Heritage.
