In keeping with the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King’s strategic intent of developing a high-performance and professional workforce focused on performance excellence and succession planning, Marines from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s Medical Facility were recognized for their stellar performance and were officially presented with awards of recognition.Leading Seaman Justin Sturrup received the award for the Marine of the Quarter for the period January – March 2021 and the Marine of the year award for 2021. Able Woman Marine Martinique Thompson received the award for the Marine of the Quarter for the period of July- September 2021. Marine Seaman Shekino Capron received the Marine of the Quarter award for the period April- June 2021 and also the runner-up Stethoscope Award. Marine Seaman Matthew Bethel received the Marine of Quarter for the period October- December 2021.Marine Seaman Komali Boateng received the Marine of the Quarter award for the period January – March 2022. Marine Seaman Michael Johnson received the Marine of the Quarter award for the period April- June 2022. These marines would have shown not only exemplary performance but also dedication and upholding the true military standard in the execution of their duties.During the presentation of certificates, Captain Coral Harbour Captain Glenn McPhee commended the Force Medical Doctor, Lieutenant Commander Derwin Johnson and the entire Medical Facility team for their hard work, continued due diligence and commitment to ensuring that the health and wellness of the service members are of top priority.The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains dedicated to performance excellence while Guarding Our Heritage.
