Defence Headquarters, 20 NOV. ‘23 (RBDF): The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Floaters
defeated The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services Interceptors to capture The
Bahamas Government Departmental Softball Association’s 2023 championship over the
weekend at the Blue Hills Sporting Fields.
The Floaters won the best of seven series with a final score of 28-5, defeating the Interceptors in
five games. The Floaters are back in the winning circle, boasting an impressive 20+ victories,
having a streak of 17 consecutive championships from 1992-2008.
Floaters pitcher, Dwayne Mackey stated that the team was inspired to win it all, after dedicating
the season to former player, Keith “Slimmy” Moss.
This comeback underscores their softball supremacy, setting the stage for an eagerly anticipated
2024 season. The team’s commitment to success is evident, making them the team to watch in
upcoming season.
