The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is proud to have participated in the Ministry of Public Service’s Fun, Run, Walk and Health Screening held as part of the The Bahamas National Public Service Week 2022. Under the theme, “The Public Service: Honouring the Past, Enhancing the Present, Shaping the Future”, the event was only one of many activities scheduled during the week.The race commenced at the Ministry of Public Service Building on Meeting Street to BahaMar Boulevard and back to the Ministry and based on the turnout, it was evident, the event garnered much support from many groups and organizations throughout the public service and the wider community.Congratulations to Officers and Marines from the Defence Force who participated and placed in their various categories. They are as follows:☆ Commander Derek Ferguson – 2nd Place (under 60 male runner)☆ Able Seaman Jamon King – 1st Place (under 40 male runner)☆ Leading Seaman Otis Ferguson – 2nd Place (under 40 male runner)☆ Leading Woman Marine Michelle Farrington – 3rd Place (under 40 female walker)☆ Able Seaman Wellington Ramsey – 1st Place (under 30 male runner)☆ Able Seaman Marvin Minns – 2nd Place (under 30 male runner)☆ Leading Seaman Robert Wood – 3rd Place (under 30 male runner)Among those in attendance were Pia Glover-Rolle, Bahamian Minister of State for Public Service, The Honourable Dr. Michael Darville Minister Of Health And Wellness, Commander Defence Force Commodore Raymond King, who also participated in this event along with Aide de camp, Lieutenant Commander Delvonne Duncombe, Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn McPhee, Training Officer, Commander Valentino Rolle, Force Warrant Officer, Force Chief Petty Officer Ramone Store, and other Defence Force Personnel.The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to supporting initiatives geared towards promoting health and fitness throughout the community.
