Defence Headquarters, 20 JAN. ‘24 (RBDF): The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Transport Workshop, in collaboration with C.C. Sweeting Senior High School alumni, led by Dr. Andrew Hunter, has successfully executed a commendable initiative. This collaborative effort involved providing essential maintenance and repair services for the school’s bus.
The extensive project encompassed a range of services including, complete spray painting, rust repairs, windshield sealing, fuel tank and system cleaning and repair, along with engine maintenance.
The combined efforts of the workshop’s staff ensured the successful completion of the project, resulting in the transformation of the Coaster bus into a safer, and more reliable mode of transportation for the students at the Senior High School.
Upon completion, the project was officially presented to Mr. Ricardo Patterson, Principal of C.C. Sweeting Senior High School. Mr. Patterson conveyed his immense gratitude to the RBDF Transport Workshop Team for their exceptional work and community initiative.
The RBDF Transport Workshop takes great pride in contributing to the welfare of the local community and building positive relationships with educational institutions like C.C. Sweeting Senior High School. This project reflects the section’s commitment to service and willingness to go the extra mile to impact the community.
Operating as a sub-section of the RBDF Engineering Department, the RBDF Transport Workshop is tasked with maintaining and repairing all RBDF-assigned vehicles. Beyond lending a helping hand to the local community, the workshop aspires to give back through its knowledge, skills, and over a decade of expertise acquired in the automotive field.
Under the command of Commodore Raymond King, the RBDF exemplifies its commitment as a responsible corporate citizen through a range of extensive community outreach initiatives, that aim to positively impact individuals, strengthen community relations, and contribute to the overall development of communities.
