Defence Headquarters, 15 SEP. ‘23 (RBDF): The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Waves advanced to the 2023 Bahamas Government Departmental Softball Association (BGDSA) Playoffs in their first game on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the Blue Hill Sporting Fields.
The RBDF Waves, led by Force Chief Petty Officer (FCPO) Thomas Williams, secured a convincing 17-2 victory over the Bahamas Public Services Union (BPSU) Strikers, thanks to Force Chief Petty Officer Maryann Ferguson’s winning pitch.
Despite facing unforeseen setbacks, Coach Williams expressed his pride in the team’s unwavering commitment and determination to secure the win. He also voiced his confidence in the combination of both new and seasoned players, believing that they will empower the Waves to dominate not only in the playoffs but also in the upcoming Championships. Force Chief Petty Officer Thomas Williams reiterated his optimism regarding the team’s prospects.
The Waves face off against the Strikers once again on Sunday, September 17, at 1:00 p.m. at the Blue Hill Sporting Fields.
