United States Congresswoman Maxine Waters along with a congressional delegation visited and toured the Royal Bahamas Defence Force’s (RBDF) Coral Harbour Base on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Led by Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King, the tour of Coral Harbour Base included a brief of the HMBS Flamingo Memorial, a walk-through of the RBDF Medical Facility and Operations Command Centre (OCC) Building and visit of RBDF patrol vessel, HMBS Leon Livingston Smith. During the visit, Rep. Maxine Waters and the delegation were given an overview of the RBDF’s capacity, and US donated resources to the Defence Force as part of the regional security effort.Also in attendance were US Representatives Joyce Beatty (Ohio), Sylvia Garcia (Texas), Troy Carter Sr. (Louisiana), Ed Perlmutter (Colorado), along with representatives from the House Financial Services Committee accompanied by their military escorts. Representing the RBDF, was Captain Chapell Whyms (Commander Operations), Captain Carlon Bethel (Commander Communications), Senior Commander Milton Munroe (Squadron Commanding Officer), Commander Derick Ferguson (Staff Intelligence Officer), Commander Origin Deleveaux (Base Executive Officer), Lieutenant Commander Derwin Johnson (Force Medical Officer), and Force Chief Petty Officer Vaughn Ferguson (Acting Command Warrant Officer).(RBDF Photos by Able Seaman Michael E.
