Defence Headquarters, August 17, 2023 (RBDF): In a significant collaboration, representatives from Colina General convened at The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Coral Harbour Base to engage in a comprehensive dialogue regarding recent additions to the group insurance package and its implications for personnel. Spearheaded by the Human Resource Section of the RBDF, led by Senior Lieutenant Thora Gardiner, this proactive initiative aimed to shed light on the recent enhancements and their impact.
The forum, held on August 17, 2023, served as a platform to enhance the understanding of our personnel about the array of newly introduced benefits, which became effective on July 1, 2023. The core objective of this presentation was to address any queries, uncertainties, and misconceptions that may have arisen among our personnel concerning these enhancements.
Leading this informative session was Miss Cheryl Martins, the Manager of Group Sales and Administration from Colina. With utmost clarity and efficiency, she provided a succinct overview of the revised terms pertaining to life and medical insurance. Moreover, Miss Martins elaborated on the recently incorporated coverage for dental and vision care—an invaluable addition to the insurance spectrum.
Noteworthy contributors from Colina were present to offer their expertise and insights. Miss Latakia Henfield, the Group Administrator, brought her profound understanding to the table. Joining her were Miss Nyoshi Ward, the Manager of the Payment Center, and Miss Sametri Dean, the Premium Accountant. Further bolstering the engagement were Miss Lavaughn Fernander, the adept Manager of Customer Service and Life Operations, and her comprehensive expertise.
The event also underscored the significance of embracing technological advancements. Marines were encouraged to embrace the Colina Unified Portal—a user-friendly platform designed to empower members to effortlessly monitor and manage their policy details with Colina.
This collaborative endeavor between the Royal Bahamas Defence Force and Colina General underscores a shared commitment to ensuring our personnel receive the best possible support and benefits. It serves as a testament to the unwavering dedication of both entities in safeguarding the welfare and well-being of our personnel.
The personnel readiness, fitness for duty, well-being and the welfare and morale of the organizational members is of significance to the Commander Defence Force.
