Even as the memory of Hurricane Matthew begins fading in the face of returning normalcy, those in Freeport continue to feel the pinch from its devastation. Hence, the ship’s company of Her Majesty Bahamian Ship Durward Knowles showed much empathy last week when they facilitated a clothing drive initiative for Grand Bahama’s Calvary Temple Assemblies of God ‘Care Ministry.’ That ministry serves as an outreach center to the neighboring Freeport community, assisting those residents affected by the passing of the Category 4 Hurricane Matthew.

The Ministry was also presented with a special offering by Acting Lieutenant Commander Carlon Bethel, Commanding Officer of HMBS Durward Knowles on behalf of his crew.
