In keeping with the Commander Defence Force Commodore Dr. Raymond King’s strategic pillar reference Decentralization, the Commanding Officer for the RBDF’s SOUTHERN COMMAND, Captain Glenn McPhee recently conducted a tour of HMBS GUNN POINT, Ragged Island. 

During a two-day tour from Thursday 25 March through Friday 26 March 2021, Captain McPhee inspected the base facility to ensure that equipment and personnel are maintaining the highest standard of naval discipline and bearing. Captain McPhee along with Force Chief Petty Officer Kevin Fountain, Master-At-Arms SOUTHERN COMMAND, also reiterated the SOUTHERN COMMAND’S Mission: To ensure continuity of administration, operations, and logistical support for all RBDF missions originating, transiting through, or around the southern Bahamas. 

On Friday, Captain McPhee was on hand to welcome and accompany Prime Minister Dr. The Most Honorable Hubert A. Minnis, Deputy Prime Minister T. Desmond Bannister, Honorable Jeffrey Lloyd, Minister of Education, and other Senior Government officials as they toured the ongoing projects in Duncan Town, Ragged Island. The RBDF GUNN POINT Deployment Team, led by Petty Officer Philip Culmer, provided security and escort duties.
