The Royal Bahamas Defence Force is aware of video and audio messages circulating on social media that shows a private yacht off western New Providence, presumably disembarking passengers that may have been in contravention of Covid-19 Emergency Orders.
The Royal Bahamas Defence Force responded to the video and boarded the vessel on Wednesday afternoon and found that the vessel, crew and passengers of the American registered vessel yacht had followed the necessary protocols.
The vessel M/V ELYSIAN with its crew of 15 had cleared Bahamas Customs and Immigration after entering Bahamian waters as required by law. They were making trips ashore to collect crew members and essential supplies before making way to their next location.
The Public is encouraged to report suspicious activities in a responsible manner to relevant law enforcement agencies to keep our waters and territories safe.
