Officers and Marines of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Supply Department invested time from their work week into assisting the Mary Ingraham Care Centre on Friday, May 6, 2022.The officers and marines after their initial effort to assist, decided they would adopt the Care Centre to lend a much-needed hand to the facility for the elderly located off St Vincent Road and Faith Avenue. During their most recent visit, the department assisted with general cleaning, window washing, yard maintenance, repairing leaking rooves, and repairing plumbing and electrical issues around the facility. They also provided breakfast for the residents and staff. The effort, which was led by Base Supply Officer Commander Samantha Hart, is aligned with Commander Defence Force, Commodore Dr. Raymond King’s strategic plan for community relations as a socially responsible corporate partner. On the department’s previous visit, nearly one-thousand dollars ($1,000) in non-perishable goods such as groceries, toiletries, and cleaning supplies were donated.Mrs. Joyce Roberts, who is responsible for running and overseeing the centre, expressed gratitude on behalf of the staff and residents of the facility.(RBDF Photos by Able Seaman Michael E.
