Base Executive Officer, Commander Origin Deleveaux and Base First Lieutenant, Senior Lieutenant Elizabeth Simms greeted students and teachers of Queens College on their visit to HMBS Coral Harbor Base on Tuesday, January 31. During the visit, students were given a full military experience as guides walked them through a brief history of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force. Highlights of their visit included a show by the RBDF Canine Unit, a briefing by the Commando Squadron Unit and a visit to the HMBS Flamingo Memorial Monument, concluding with a ship tour. This visit complements the Social Studies curriculum and brings awareness to the importance of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force in “Guarding Our Heritage”.(RBDF Photo by Marine Seaman Calvin Brown)
