Nearly 50 educators recently embarked on a captivating journey at Coral Harbour Base, and what they found was beyond the textbooks.
On Thursday, October 26, 2023, at the Coral Harbour Base, its gates were opened to the teachers of Anatol Rodgers High School, who were eager to delve into the world of border protection. The visit, led by Mr. Andrew Dean and Mrs. Melissa Rolle, the principal and vice-principal respectively, allowed the educators to not only learn about Defence Force history, but to witness it firsthand.
These dedicated teachers explored the force’s fleet, boarded Defence Force vessels, and took in the beauty of coastal landmarks. But it was more than just a visual spectacle. The heart of the experience lay in the educational briefings provided by various competent Marines working in the different areas.
For these educators, as they return to their classrooms, they will carry with them a newfound appreciation for the immense scope of work the Defence Force is mandated to carry out, as well as the unwavering devotion to duty required. They would have earned not just new memories, but a deeper respect for the vital role the Defence Force plays in safeguarding our coastal regions.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force exemplifies its commitment to be a responsible corporate citizenship through consistent and intentional efforts\to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
