Marines assigned to the Disaster Risk Management Unit of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force assembled last week at The Bahamas Red Cross Society on John F. Kennedy Drive to render assistance as part of their community outreach initiative.Upholding the Commander Defence Force, Commodore, Raymond King’s strategic plans for outreach throughout the community and strengthening community relations, the unit led by Commander Sonia Miller, assisted the organization with minor dry wall repairs to their Headquarters building and prepared the grounds for a gardening area.Youth and Volunteer Manager at Bahamas Red Cross, Katherine Lockhart was most appreciative of the efforts made by the team on the ground.The Royal Bahamas Defence Force remains committed to its corporate responsibility to render assistance within the community as stewards of the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.
