Defence Headquarters, 10 August. ‘23 (RBDF): Deputy Commander of the Royal Bahamas Defence Force, Captain Shonedel Pinder,  attended the Full Military Funeral Service of the Late Retired Commissioner of Police, Mr. Paul Farquharson Sr., on Thursday, August 10, 2023. The solemn event took place at the historic Christ Church Cathedral, located on George Street.

Mr. Paul Farquharson’s journey was marked by an early and steadfast desire to serve his beloved country in a profoundly meaningful manner. With unwavering commitment, he enlisted in the Royal Bahamas Police Force on December 12, 1966. Throughout his distinguished career, he maintained a tireless dedication and a resolute focus, accomplishing remarkable feats along the way. His unwavering determination propelled him to the pinnacle of success, culminating in his appointment as the Commissioner of Police in 2001, a position he held with distinction for an impressive seven years.

On behalf of Commander Defence Force Commodore King and reflecting the collective sentiments of his own personal family, as well as the Officers, Marines, Reservists, and Rangers of the RBDF, heartfelt condolences are extended to the family of the late Mr. Paul Farquharson. This solemn tribute served to honor his enduring legacy and remarkable contributions to his country.
