Defence Headquarters, 12 JAN. ‘24 (RBDF): Twenty-six participants successfully completed a rigorous 30-week Technical Training program hosted by the RBDF Engineering Department from June 26, 2023, to January 12, 2024.
The training covered theoretical knowledge and practical skills in specialized areas such as Electrical, HVAC, Mechanical, Air Condition, Out Board, Hull, Transport Workshop, Solar Power/Electrical Generation, Communication Branch/Radio, and Fleet Maintenance. The curriculum aimed to equip participants with cutting-edge skills for their respective fields.
The graduates distinguished themselves by completing two major projects. The first involved creating notice boards for the engineering area, showcasing their creative and collaborative capabilities. The second focused on refurbishing vessel P-39, a monumental task to be prominently displayed at the main gate of Coral Harbour Base.
Additionally, the group is the largest to date to complete the Engineering Technical Training program, emphasizing the department’s commitment to nurturing a skilled engineering workforce, aligning with Commodore Raymond King’s intent of cultivating a high-performance workforce focused on performance excellence.
