The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Military Aid to Civil Authority (MACA) Unit highlighted the outstanding performance of five of its Marines in a brief ceremony held at HMBS Coral Harbour Base.The 2022 MACA Marine of the Year award was presented to the top junior enlisted from each rate. Leading Seaman Rudy Lyden, attached to the Office of the Register General was awarded Leading Seaman of the Year. Able Seaman Terico Strachan, attached to the Ministry of National Security was awarded Able Seaman of the Year and Marine Seaman Jevon Major, attached to the Passport Office was awarded Marine Seaman of the Year.Awards were also presented for Marine of the Quarter. Receiving the award for the third quar-ter of 2022 was Able Seaman Terico Strachan attached to the Ministry of National Security and Able Seaman Keith Petty of the Passport Office received the award for the fourth quarter of 2022.Delivering the presentations were Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn McPhee assisted by Base Executive Officer, Commander Origin Deleveaux, Commanding Officer of MACA Unit, Lieutenant Commander Andrew Bowe, and Executive Officer of MACA Unit, Sub Lieutenant Jamal Taylor. This exercise is inline with the strategic intent of the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King, to cultivate performance excellence by highlighting the talents of personnel through recognition and reward for their efforts in service.
