Defence Headquarters, 02 FEB. ‘24 (RBDF): In a brief ceremony, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force
Veteran Association (RBDFVA) bid farewell to outgoing President, Chief Petty Officer Harold Bosfield
and welcomed in its new leadership and President in the person of Chief Petty Officer Daniel Ferguson at
Coral Harbour Base.
The event witnessed an impressive turnout, a testament to the existing and continued support from
association members.
While sharing a few words, Chief Bosfield expressed his gratitude for the trust placed in him during his
term, acknowledging that there were many challenges which lined his journey. However, he noted that
they were always overshadowed by the support from the members, which fueled his leadership.
Daniel Ferguson, in his address as the incoming President, conveyed his gratitude for the opportunity to
serve the needs of the members and provided a glimpse of his vision for the future of the association.
President Ferguson officially introduced his team, who were all previously serving members and therefore
only served as a reintroduction of reassurance. The leadership includes now President Chief Petty Officer
Daniel Ferguson, Vice President Petty Officer Warren Armbrister, Treasurer Chief Petty Officer Andrew
Johnson, Chaplain Chief Petty Officer Samuel Rolle, Chairman of the Welfare Committee Chief Petty
Officer Wayde Hanna, and Secretary Petty Officer Prenell Henfield.
Acting Commander Defence Force, Captain Shonedel Pinder, was also given the opportunity to share
brief remarks and reassured the association of continued support from the Royal Bahamas Defence Force,
recognizing the RBDFVA’s crucial role in fostering camaraderie among veterans.
Also in attendance were Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn Mcphee, and Base Executive Officer
Commander Origin Deleveaux, underscoring the event’s significance in the broader military community.
As President Ferguson takes the helm, the RBDFVA is poised for a new chapter, committed to
strengthening bonds and fostering a sense of community among its esteemed members.
