On March 28th, 2024, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF) Training Department launched their inaugural quarterly community service initiative. Eighteen marines dedicated their time to The Persis Rodger’s Home for the Aged, demonstrating their commitment as community leaders.
The marines transformed the residents’ living environment. They cleared debris, landscaped the grounds, and even painted the newly installed deck and railings, creating a more vibrant and inviting outdoor space for residents to enjoy.
The resounding success of this program paves the way for a lasting partnership with The Persis Rodger’s Home for the Aged. The Training Department is committed to making their service a recurring event, returning annually to provide for the well-being of the residents.
Under the leadership of Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond E. King, the Royal Bahamas Defence Force exemplifies its commitment to be a responsible corporate citizen through a range of extensive outreach initiatives and projects. These endeavors aim to strengthen community relations, positively impact individuals, and contribute to the development of thriving communities.
