A total of twelve (12) Cuban migrants are currently in transit to the capital aboard Defence Force patrol craft HMBS LEON LIVINGSTONE SMITH after they were apprehended in Bahamian waters.While on routine patrol, eight Cuban nationals (6 males and 2 females) were discovered off of Damas Cay and upon further investigation, four more Cuban migrants (3 males and 1 female) were discovered on Cay Sal by HMBS L.L. SMITH crew under the command of Lieutenant Miska Clarke.The Cubans will be handed over to Immigration Officials for further processing upon their arrival tomorrow. The Royal Bahamas Defence Force continues to remain vigilant and committed to “Guarding our Heritage”.
