The Royal Bahamas Defence Force Military Police and Force Protection (MPFP) Unit highlighted the performance of three of its marines in a brief ceremony at HMBS Coral Harbour Base on Friday, December 2. Leading Seaman Anthony Williams, Able Women Marine Alexis Miller, and Women Marine Lakera Dames each received the Marine of the Year Award for their respective rates and were recognized for their hard work and dedication. Leading Seaman Anthony Williams, described as a well-rounded marine, was recognized for his wealth of experience and ability to demonstrate superior work ethics, professionalism, leadership, and high level of collaboration in the workplace. Able Women Marine Alexis Miller, described as an exceptional marine, was recognized for her initiative, diligence, and leaderships abilities in ensuring all tasks are achieved efficiently. Women Marine Lakera Dames, described as ambitious, was praised on her proficiency and display of outstanding initiative in the performance and execution of her duties.In attendance to present the awards were Captain Coral Harbour, Captain Glenn McPhee assisted by Commanding Officer of MPFP Unit, Senior Commander Fredrick Brown, Executive Officer of MPFP Unit, Senior Lieutenant Elizabeth Simms, Force Chaplain, Apostle Raymond Wells, Master at Arms, Force Chief Petty Officer Raymond Sands, Force Chief Petty Officer Arlington Clarke, and Force Chief Petty Officer Oral Wood.Talent Management is a strategic objective of the Commander Defence Force, Commodore Raymond King who is focused on the recruitment and retention of valuable personnel via deliberate recognition and rewarding for exemplary services.(RBDF photos by Marine Seaman Rickey Sealy)
